My name is April, and I’m Little April Shower.

I’m an ordinary girl with extraordinary dreams, figuring out my future as it goes, and trying ever so slightly to help you out with yours. I am a photographer and a poet, and I write for everyone looking to bust out of the status quo, achieve their ambitions and become better people because that’s what I’m aiming for. I am incredibly interested in human behaviour – why people behave like they do and why, and how to change their thoughts in a good way.

This blog is for adventurers, dreamers and artists; I want my audience to feel the love I feel, the excitement of adventure and travel, and the same awe I feel about the world and it’s beauty. It’s about being true to who you really are and being the best person you can be.

I believe in following your dreams, curiosity and making your life a big adventure with the end result of having loads of stories to tell.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know that I have just finished my third year of university, and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life. But I’ve come to realise that at this stage, I don’t necessarily have to know what I want to do because I have my whole life to figure that out. Over the past few years, I have been so focused on exams and assignments and my dissertation, so I haven’t really had much time for myself lately, until now.

I’ve always wanted to travel, and what I am going to do after summer with my boyfriend is just that: travel. There are loads of places that I want to go, and I want to experience them like a traveller, not a tourist. Because that’s the best way you can experience a new place, through the eyes of the locals.

“I will find my way, I can go the distance.” – Hercules

I got started on all this when I came across a poetry blog on Tumblr. I absolutely love poetry and writing because words can be so beautiful, yet they can also be very harsh. You must always use words in a good way. So I decided to start writing for a good purpose because words can change people’s lives.

Sometimes I have realisations about myself and society and want you to know about them too. A lot of my posts on this blog will be poetry, about love and happiness and adventure, because that’s what I want this blog to portray more than anything.

Take a look through my eyes…

  6. Very refreshing blog. Love your passion and enthusiasm. I’ve been writing and reading poetry for a number of years now. Lack of confidence in my gifts and abilities caused me to trash a lot of what I wrote. I recently stumbled upon some of my poems archived on poetry.com, so I republished them on my blog http://theaccidentalpoet.net. I believe that once a poem is released to the universe, no matter who wrote it, something changes in the atmosphere. One of my favorite free verse poems is Monarch Butterfly. I hope you will roam around in my archives and visit often for new posts. I will be following your posts as well.

    1. Oh wow, it’s great that you found some of your archives to republish! Poems are little gifts of stardust, no matter who they’re written by or how they’re written, or if the poet even thinks they’re good or not. All poems are beautiful. I’ll go check it out! I try to read at least one poem a day 🙂 I definitely will be visiting your blog more often.
