The Girl Wonders

girl thinking

“Like a moth to a flame

She craved comfort

In the magic of the candlelight,

It’s bright glow.

But when the fire blew out,

All that was left

Was darkness

And loneliness.

She craved its warmth,

The passion,

And the colours that were created.

She tried everything to keep the fire alight

Without touching it

And hoped it would stay lit

But the wind snuck

Through an open window and

Blew the fire out.

The moth didn’t think twice,

And went searching for the next

Beautiful flame.

But the girl,

The girl wondered why she always ends up

Losing

And what she did

To deserve this.”
